Steven Gerrard: My Story

Steven Gerrard: My Story is just one of the instalments written by one of the most famous footballers of the time. Fans of Stevie, England or Liverpool will be amazed at how he has brought his career to life, including becoming the captain of Britain's most successful football team.
Throughout the book, Gerrard tells us about the illustrious career he has had, including winning the Champions league, FA Cup, UEFA Cup and the Charity shield. His career is missing one very important factor to him: The Premier League. Did you know he had the worst injury of his life before he was even at secondary school? The book will take you from when he was really young, just having kick-a-bouts in the street, to walking out of the tunnel at Wembley stadium with an England shirt on.
If you are the type of person that reads loads of autobiographies, you won't be surprised at how this is written. It is written just like any usual autobiography, in the first person and making you feel everything that is written.
The better parts about this book are the parts where you read about when he is winning something, or when something dramatic is happening. One of the better stories is when he wins the treble. A very nimble thing is the way he manages to make otherwise boring things quite fun. They were the parts that he didn't mind thinking about, but were quite boring to write about.
The worst thing about the particular version I read was that there was a lot of swearing in it. It also got a bit more boring when he was talking about some of the things that he didn't like. You could nearly say that he was dozing off when writing it, because it was one of the parts of his career that he preferred not to think about.
Overall, I would very much recommend this book if you are a Liverpool FC or England fan, but if you aren't really into football I really wouldn't recommend it!
