A collection of poetry by Year 10 poet Faye Ward.

You Are
You are the luxurious feel of my silky dress.
You are the scrumptious taste, as chocolate flows through-out my mouth.
You are the sun shining down on us, as we walk along the sandy beach.
You are lust.

You are a boiling hot cup of tea on a cold evening.
You are the summer picnics, swarming with friends.
You are the super soft feel of a baby seal.
You are mine.

Don't Worry
Disgust. Hatred. Venom.
These are only some of the words useable on you.
You are the monsters in little kids’ dreams; striking out wherever you can.
You're someone who spreads all the lies and doesn't think about the consequences.
Someone who sucks the life out of all the parties, and someone who would laugh at other people's despair.

Don't you worry. It won't last.

What is it?
Is it the Almighty God constantly yawning?
Is it the vibration of a young child crying out for attention?
Is it the world rushing by as we stand our ground?
What is it?

Is it the shock waves from a far off explosion?
Is it the panting of a giant St. Bernard?
Is it the puff of air as our money disappears from our lives?
What is it?

Is it pages of a book brushing against our hands?
Is it the crash of waves as they collapse in on themselves?
Is it the trees quietly talking?
What is it?
It is Wind.
